Backfill compound designed to improve grounding efficiency. Packaged in durable 25 kg bags, the product is ideal for ensuring a consistent and dependable grounding system—especially in tough soil conditions.
Key Features of Backfill Compound
1. High Conductivity for Effective Grounding
The compound includes a sodium montmorillonite base—a superior conductor that improves the electrical connection between the electrode and surrounding earth. It significantly lowers soil resistivity and helps maintain low resistance values over extended periods. This makes it ideal for challenging terrains like dry, sandy, or rocky soils.
2. Long-Lasting and Non-Corrosive
The compound is non-corrosive and does not degrade over time. It does not leach out, dissolve, or decompose, ensuring a durable and maintenance-free earthing system. Even in areas with varying moisture levels, it maintains consistent performance.
3. Designed for Low-Water Conditions
Backfill material performs exceptionally well in low-moisture environments. It stays effective at up to 15% moisture and 30% soil depth relative to electrode length.
For a 3-meter electrode, stability is ensured below 1 meter.
For a 2-meter electrode, 0.6-meter soil depth suffices.
There’s no need for continuous watering, reducing the maintenance burden.
4. Simple and Effective Slurry Installation
This compound can be installed as a slurry by pre-mixing with water. When poured around the electrode, the slurry ensures even distribution and improved soil-electrode contact. This method boosts grounding performance and simplifies installation.
5. Consistent Performance Across Soil Types
Suitable for clay, sand, or rocky ground, our product maintains structural integrity without disintegration. Unlike conventional salt-based fillers, it does not wash away, thereby preserving the effectiveness of the grounding system over time.
A Smarter Alternative to Conventional Earthing Chemicals
While traditional earthing chemicals may deteriorate or disperse with water flow, our specially formulated backfill compound delivers stable and consistent conductivity in all weather and soil conditions. It provides a long-term solution for effective and low-resistance grounding systems without recurring maintenance.
Usage Guidelines:
For each 2-meter earth electrode, 1 bag (25 kg) of BFC compound is recommended.
For each 3-meter earth electrode, 2 bags (25 kg each) of BFC are required.
These quantities are suitable for auger holes up to 225 mm diameter.
